Are the Colorful Art face paints water or oil-based?
Our face paints are all water-based. This makes them easy to apply and easy to take off.

Can you take the face paints out of the box?
Yes! Each color comes with its own lid and can be removed from the box.

How many faces can these face paint kits paint?
The 16-palette set can paint well over 100 faces. While the 12-color palette can paint up to 100 faces. For large events, we recommend purchasing 2 or more sets.

Are these paints suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes! Our face paints are specially formulated for sensitive skin. They contain no parabens, latex or harsh chemicals.

What can I use the acrylic paints on?
You can use these paints on a wide range of surfaces. Including canvas, paper, wood, flower pots, brickwork, rocks or anything which is neither greasy nor too glossy.

Can I paint on rocks for outdoors?
If you plan to leave any of your artwork outdoors, you’ll need to seal it after you paint it! Use an indoor-outdoor spray sealer and it’ll be fine out in your garden. Colorful Art Acrylic paint is water-soluble (which means it will wash off your hands with soap and water).

Is the paint thick?
The paint is of standard thickness for acrylic paints and can be watered down if needed. Enjoy the variety of colors. Blend easily to create any shade you want!

Will the acrylic paints wash off clothing?
If you get any paint on your clothing it is very difficult to remove. Always wear old painting cloths or an apron when using acrylic paint.

What types of tips are on the markers? Bullet, chisel, double ended?
Colorful Art chalk markers have both a chisel and bullet tip. Simply pull the tip out and flip it over.

What can I use the chalk markers on?
Our Chalk markers only work with non-porous surfaces such as glass, cardstock, vinyl, metal, porcelain, chalkboards, slate chalkboards, or any other sealed surfaces.

How do I activate the chalk markers?
It’s easy to do: Just shake, pump and draw! Hold the marker diagonally, with the cap on, and start shaking. On a flat surface, press the tip in and release. Repeat until the tip fills up with ink. It usually takes around 20-40 pumps. Don’t press too hard. Start drawing!

What type of designs can I create?

Do your pens bleed through printer paper or notebook paper?
When using thinner paper, you may be able to see it on the other side, but it won’t bleed unless you go over the same spot again and again.

What’s the best paper for brush pens?
We recommend using a professional drawing pad with medium weight paper, watercolor paper or even regular cardstock.

What designs can I create?
Calligraphy or adult coloring books – brush pens are a versatile tool to have at home or in your studio. Our brush pens have firm tips for easy control and predictable strokes. With a little practice, even beginners can create that beautiful calligraphy lettering.

Are the pens washable?
Yes. Our brush pens are water based and will wash off your hands with a little soap and warm water. Try not to get it on your clothing. The color is vibrant and fade resistant, so your artwork will look bold and beautiful for a long time.
